An unmanned aircraft used by U.N. peacekeepers in Democratic Republic of Congo crashed on Wednesday near the eastern town of Goma, sources at the airport and interior ministry said.

The United Nations force started using drones - a first for the world body - last month to help it monitor armed groups operating along Congo's border zone with Rwanda and Uganda.

Since its first flight in 2003 this Drone suffered of 2 major crashes. The first one in 2009 and another one in 2010 (we have excluded incidents). No reports can be read about crashes, only articles.

Of course it's too early to know the real resons of the crash.

The crash, involving a Selex Falco unmanned plane, has raised fears about the safety of testing unmanned aircraft in the skies over Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire. The crash happened at the Parc Aberporth UAV centre near West Wales Airport in Ceredigion, where new craft being tested include drone planes capable of delivering missiles. The crashed UAV, which had potential civil as well as military use, was being controlled by a pilot at the airport who had to perform a crash-landing due to a technical fault.
