Kigali (2014)

563 249 passengers + 0,7%
Cargo: 8 066 T +9,2%
Flights : 21 907 +19,1%

The growth is weak, mainly due to the fact, that South African Airways and Air Uganda, suspended their flights to Kigali.  Kenya Airways has also reduced flights to Kigali, from 4 to 3 flights a day. RwandAir has also reduced flights to Johannesburg, Lagos and Dubai, due to the addition of Douala and Juba and the increase of service to Entebbe and Nairobi. RwandAir has a small fleet

However, Turkish Airlines, KLM and Brussels Airlines have all increased capacity to Kigali.

The cargo volume is growing, however, the volume is still to low and the fees too high to attract new cargo airlines.

21 907 flights were operated at Kigali. Commercial flights represent the biggest part of the flights, however, Rwanda hosted several conferences in 2014, and has probably recorded a strong growth for Corporate Jets movements.

In 2015, the traffic should record a growth, thanks to the arrival of FlyDubai and a strong expansion of RwandAir.

However, several crisis have impacted RwandAir and thus Kigali Airport (Ebola, Burundi, South Sudan and xenophobic attacks in South Africa). Furthermore, Kamembe Airport have been closed for 6 months in 2015. Kigali Kamembe traffic is about 40 000 passengers per year
