The Rwandan national flag carrier announced yesterday, that the delivery of two brand new regional jets will be delayed.
RwandAir planned to add two 70 - 100 seater regional aircraft for June 2012. According to John Mirenge "the airline is still in talks with Embraer (Brazil) and Bombardier (Canada), it will take more time to make a final desicion".
RwandAir will replace its two former 50 seater CRJ-200LRs delivered in 2009 from Lufthansa Regional, by either CRJ-900s or Embraer 170s / 190s, to meet the strong demand on its regionals flights. The airline recently secured a loan from the PTA Bank to acquire new aircraft.
