Rwanda in talks with South Korea to acquire the KT-1P aircraft ?

According to an article published on South Korean website, Rwanda has showed aninterest for the acquisition of KT-1P aircraft.. This aircraft is used for the training or light attack, and costs US$ 7 Millions. Currently, Rwanda hasn't combat aircraft, however Rwanda had talks with South Africa in 2007, to get Mirage F1.
Korea Aerospace Industries Ltd. (KAI) said Tuesday that it successfully conducted the first flight test of the KT-1P basic trainer aircraft that will be sent to Peru. The country's sole aircraft manufacturer said the plane incorporates the light attack capabilities and tactical air controller functions of the KA-1 planes already in service, while meeting specifications laid down for the XKT-1, an export variant of the turboprop trainer.

Industry sources said Turkey may be interested in acquiring 15 more planes, with Thailand and Rwanda showing interest in the tandem two-seat basic trainer.

About the KT-1P :
KT-1 is a single engine basic trainer or light attack aircraft designed and built jointly by Korean Aerospace Industries (KAI) and the Agency of Defence Development (ADD).
It is the first native aircraft developed principally to meet the requirements of the Republic of Korean Air Force. About 92 KT-1 aircraft are currently operational worldwide.
