RwandAir adds more flights to Dubai and makes some ajustements to its Kenyan and Central African destinations  :

 

05/11/2011 :

 

According to Amadeus, from 21NOV2011, RwandAir will fly 6 times a week to Dubai. Both news flights will be operated NON STOP, from Rwanda to Dubai, on wednesday and satruday (see also the article published on 4SEP2011 on this page).

Kigali-Brazzaville-Libreville-Brazzaville-Kigali. RwandAir has traffic rights between Libreville and Brazzaville, it means that RwandAir can sell air tickets between both destinations

RwandAir to start flights to Zambia :

 

02/11/2011 :

 

Planned since 2009, RwandAir will finaly open flights to Lusaka, the Zambia's capital. No date have been given, but the flights will continue to Johannesburg. RwandAir signed traffic right in 2010, to get traffic right between Lusaka and Johannesburg. RwandAir has recently announced that they want to add more flights to South Africa.

RwandAir to connect Rwanda to Nigeria :

 

29/10/2011 :

 

RwandAir confirmed yesterday, that the airline will start flights to Nigeria, before the end of year. Lagos is the biggest airport in West Africa and and thus a gateway to the West Africa.

 

The new flight will facilitate the trade between Rwanda and Nigeria. Morover passengers will enjoy to use Lagos and Kigali hub as transit point in West Africa and East Africa.

 

Nigeria has made some majors investissements in Rwanda specially in Banks, Insurances and Hospitality sectors. With the recent visit of the Nigerian president in Rwanda, both countries have strengthened ties.

RwandAir reduces flights to Nairobi :

Since one week, RwandAir reduced flights on fridays. Flights are now operated two times a day, instead of three times a day.

RwandAir extends code share service with Ethiopian Airlines :

 

21/10/2011 :

 

According to Amadeus, from 01NOV2011, the Ethiopian Airlines overnight flight will be operated in code share with RwandAir. Until 01NOV2011, only the Ethiopian Airlines daylight flight was operated in code share with RwandAir.

 

 

 

 

 

RwandAir plans to fly daily to Dubai :

 

18/10/2011 :

 

With the arrival of the second B737-800NG, RwandAir has announced that the Dubai Kigali could become daily, to meet the strong demand. We don't know, if flights will make a stop at Mombasa or if flights will be non stop from Kigali to Dubai. From 21NOV2011, RwandAir will add a 4th weekly flights operated NON STOP, from Kigali, every mondays. This new flight allows to RwandAir to provide more connections, for passengers arriving from Nairobi (Kenya) and Johannesburg.

RwandAir plans to fly 5 times a day to Nairobi (Kenya), instead of 3 times a day :

 

25/09/2011 :

 

While, RwandAir has just started to fly to Nairobi, with its new B737-800, Mr Otieno the RwandAir communication director has announced that RwandAir plans to  add more flights to Nairobi. Mr Otieno has said that the route has recently recorded an impressive increase in passenger traffic. According to IATA, the O & D (origin and departure) traffic was about 154 000 passengers, between Nairobi and Kigali, in 2010. Kenya Airways operates 5 daily flights.

RwandAir increases the capacity seat to Central Africa and adds a 4th weekly flight to Dubai, operated NON STOP :

According to Amadeus, from 21NOV 2011, RwandAir will add a 4th weekly to Dubai. The flight will be operated every Mondays. This new flight will be perfect for passenegrs arriving from Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, South Africa, Tanzania, Gabon and Republic of Congo, with a reduced transfert time (between 3h45 and 1h) :

RwandAir adds more seats and cargo capacity to Tanzania :

According to Amadeus, RwandAir has added two more flights operated with the 92 seater B737-500 (see air fleets infos) to Kilimandjaro and Dar Es Salaam. Tuesday and Sunday flights remains operated with the 50 seater CRJ-200LR.

RwandAir starts Gisenyi (Rwanda)-Kamembe (Rwanda) service :

According to  Amadeus, from 12 AUG 2011, RwandAir will start a new service from Gisenyi to Kamembe. This latter will be operated two times a week. Kamembe will be serverd 11 times a week instead of 9 times a week, from Kigali.
